Client Access Through A Proxy
Question:
I am trying to get a remote user to work under client access through a proxy
server. I can´t get the user to authenticate. A normal telnet through port
23 works. Which ports do I have to open to get the remote CA through the
proxy server.
Thanks
Answer(s):
netstat from AS/400 command line, then option 3. Look for local ports
as-?????. Cmd14 will then show you the port numbers. Also, if you
need/want Anynet support, look for local port APPCoverTCPIP.
You won't see these entries under netstat until TCPIP and host servers
have been started. If these are not started, you can look at the
service table entries to get the port numbers (WRKSRVTBLE).
Of course, TCPIP and host servers must be started before you can make
a tcpip connection to the AS400 via Client Access for Windows 95.
Check-out NETSTAT, option 3 and take a look at all local ports starting
with as-xxxxx.
