I have been trying without much success to make the RUNRMTCMD command work. I've tried to run commands from the 400 to both a Windows 95 PC running TCP/IP and CA 95 on our LAN and on a PC attached by twinax running only DOS and CA for DOS Extended. The 400 is at V3R1.

We had the similar problems on V3R1. It was finally resolved by
adding QSYS2 to the library list prior to running RUNRMTCMD. The
error messages from the AS/400 lead me to think I had a security
problem, but this proved not to be the case. We have since installed
V3R2 and with this release, we do not need to add QSYS2 to the job's
library list.
