Question:

Hi all. since I have installed IE 4.0 I'm not able to get the emulation session vith CA95. All seems to be ok: I can ping my host and if I try to connect with Win95 Telnet I get the session without troubles. I even can browse the AS/400 network but when I start the 5250 Emulation program, the cursor stays on the left of my video Can you help me please ? Thank you in advance. P.S.: everything was ok when I worked with IE 3.0, but please don't tell me to reinstall it ;-) !!!

Answer(s):

High, A solution for this problem can be found on ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/as400/products/clientaccess/win32/v3r1m2/files/ie 40/ Greetings

I found that Upgrading IE4.0 to IE4.01 seemed to resolve more problems than any NS router fixes

IBM released a fix (from NetSoft) just for this problem on 11/07/97: To obtain this fix, goto http://www.as400.ibm.com/, click on Software, click on Client Server, click on Leverage, click on Trouble Shooting, Scroll down to "Miscellaneous Known Problems", Click on Client Access and Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 Support. I have been using this fix for at least a month without any problems.

Their is a known problem with IE4.0 and Client Access. Specifically, Netsoft Router. IBM has promised a fix that should be out any day now. The latest service pack SF43837 was suppose to include this fix but some how it was left out, IBM said they will reissue the service pack soon.
